Whole Foods Market announced it would stop selling wild-caught fish species threatened by overfishing.

One fish, two fish ??but there's no?"red fish" anymore, at least not at Whole Foods. Organic and natural-foods chain Whole Foods Market announced it would stop selling wild-caught fish species labeled "red," or threatened by overfishing, by the Blue Ocean Institute and Monterey Bay Aquarium.?

The company said in a statement Friday it will stop selling these fish on April 22, Earth Day, and that it will be the only national grocery retailer that doesn't sell "red" fish. Species it will no longer stock include?Atlantic halibut, grey sole and skate, along with others, the company said.

The aquarium and the environmental group use color coding ??green, yellow and red ??to help consumers identify fish deemed to be in ecological danger or caught in an unsustainable manner. A red rating means "avoid" consuming these fish entirely.

Previously, Whole Foods labeled the fish it sold by color it sold so consumers with environmental concerns would know what to avoid. The retailer already didn't sell other species considered at risk like orange roughy and bluefin tuna.?

But at least one prominent seafood brand called the Monterey Bay Aquarium's ratings into question. According to trade publication Nation's Restaurant News, Legal Sea Foods broke with the conservation group last year, choosing instead to rely on sustainability data provided by the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and National Marine Fisheries.?

Legal Sea Foods president and CEO Roger Berkowitz told?Nation's Restaurant News that?his company?wanted to debunk "myths that these fish are not sustainable.? He was referring to species like hook-caught cod from the Gulf of Maine, which currently has a yellow rating on Monterey's Seafood Watch list, and imported black tiger shrimp, which is rated red by the group.?

People marry for many reasons, to publicly declare their love or legitimise their relationship, to have a family, improve economic stability, and sometimes for citizenship in a foreign country. Whether the reasons for marriage are legal, emotional, social or financial some truths emerge about the consequences of marriage on the individual. Marriage has been shown repeatedly to make people happier, healthier and wealthier.

The case for wealthier:

It has been shown that married people fair better in employment particularly with regards to earnings. This is most apparent when a large portion of unpaid labour in the home is performed by only one of the married persons; in traditional relationships this is usually a woman. This unequal division of labour provides the working partner with greater freedom to dedicate themselves to their work, become more specialised, receive promotions and ultimately earn more. This greatly increases the combined wealth of the couple. Baxter and Gray (2003) found married men earn 15% more on average than unmarried men.

In addition to increased earning potential marriage creates wealth in other ways depending on the specific tax advantages within a country's system. Marital status is a determining factor in receiving benefits, rights and privileges. Some of the financial advantages that may be available within marriage are health insurance, inheritance rights, no estate tax and a lower tax rate for joint filing.

The case for happier:

The Australian Survey of Social Attitudes of 2005 undisputedly discovered that married people were considerably happier. 78% of married people rate themselves as 7 or above on 0-10 scale, compared to 63% of the never married. In fact married couples were also happier than de facto couples. Married people were more likely to be in the very happy 9-10 range, 32% compared to 21% among de facto couples. This indicates that marriage itself and not simply being partnered influenced happiness positively. These results have been replicated elsewhere. Data from a 15-year study of over 24,000 individuals living in Germany also indicated that people who get married and stayed married are more satisfied with their lives than their unmarried counterparts.

Casting aside discrepancies between genders, which is a discussion for a whole other article, the fact remains that married people do report higher levels of happiness than unmarried people.

The case for healthier

De Vaus (2002) concluded that marriage is a protective factor against social pathologies, greatly reducing the risk of mental disorders such as depression. He found that married men had better mental health than single men and that married women also had the best mental health. A 2002 study conducted at La Trobe University in Australia revealed that married women with children were the least likely to suffer mental health problems. Single men are twice as likely to commit suicide as married men. (Miller-Tutzauer et al, 1991).

Life expectancy is increased through marriage. Mortality rates for single men are 250% higher than married men. Single women have mortality rates that are 50% higher than married women (Ross et all, 1990). This research demonstrates that marriage protects both men and women against mental disorders and increases life expectancy. These are all good things really.

Enough dry statistics. Lets talk about something more controversial. Same-sex marriage.

Since 2001, five nations have made same-sex marriage legal, namely the Netherlands, Belgium, Spain, Canada, and South Africa. In the United States, Massachusetts is the only state to recognize same-sex marriage under the name marriage whilst several other states offer civil unions or domestic partnerships, which grant same-sex couples some or all of the same rights under state law granted to married couples.

Civil unions are a separate form of legal union open to couples of the same sex. Denmark was the first country in the world (in 1989) to extend the rights and responsibilities of marriage to same-sex couples under the name of registered partnership. Civil unions (and registered partnerships) are currently recognized in 24 out of 193 countries worldwide.

Without question stable relationships are better for society. Being happier, healthier and wealthier can only impact positively. It reduces the need for society to support its members as each spouse looks out for the other often providing care that would fall to a public health or social welfare system.

But with de facto status often granted to same-sex couples is there a need for same-sex marriage? Absolutely. Marriage and living together are not the same thing. Brown and Booth (1996) found that cohabitation typically does not bring the benefits--in physical health, wealth, and emotional wellbeing--that marriage does. This is partly due to the tendency of cohabitants orientation towards personal autonomy over the wellbeing of their partner and also due to commitment discrepancies.

Cohabitating couples do not have the same level of commitment. Although married couples often succumb to the same problems and issues as those who are merely cohabiting, marriage provides a level of commitment legally, emotionally, financially and socially. It is much easier to leave a relationship without these entanglements.

When society doesn't value your relationship it is harder to value it yourself. Society labels same-sex couples as second-class citizens by denying them the opportunity to validate their relationships. This has consequences not just for the individual or couple but also for their entire extended family. Same-sex couples exist within a family unit. They are someone's daughter, son, niece, nephew, grandchild, sibling, cousin, aunt, uncle, parent or grandparent. The toll taken on a family that experiences the discrimination and exclusion of same-sex individuals within their family is understated and often ignored.

If we acknowledge that to love freely and have your love recognised by society is a fundamental right and that there is absolutely no difference in the ability of same-sex couples to care for each other, then the law of marriage should apply to same-sex couples as well.

Marriage establishes a spouse as a next-of-kin. Your next of kin is involved in practically every legal matter, from medical decision-making to property rights to funeral arrangements. It is a severe violation of human rights to deny this to same-sex couples.

Homosexuality is no more a choice than heterosexuality. Denying same-sex couples the right to marry will not stop same-sex couples from having loving committed relationships. What it will do is perpetuate prejudice and intolerance to the detriment of the individual, the couple and society as a whole.

Same-sex couples pay the same taxes, fight the same wars and abide by the same laws and responsibilities as other citizens, this is reason enough to grant the same rights.

To claim marriage as a tradition is to suggest that traditions are immutable. Marriage as an arrangement has changed significantly over time. Women are no longer considered their husband's property, divorce is legal, interracial marriage is legal, polygamy is prohibited, and marital rape is considered a crime. Customs and traditions change and are not justification enough for violating human rights. Same-sex marriage is just another branch in the evolution of the institution of marriage.

Verizon CEO Lowell C. McAdam doesn't quite have all of those SpectrumCo AWS licenses in his pocket just yet, but if he does get them he has a decidedly old school idea of what to flood the airwaves with: TV. The Wall Street Journal quotes him saying Verizon and its new cable friends could have "the beginnings of an integrated offering" out by the holidays, so pay-TV customers could watch video on their mobile devices. Even though many of the TV services are already streaming video to tablets, PCs and phones, currently most subscription services are limited to the space of the home's WiFi network, unlike the video on-demand seen above. According to McAdam the potential to negotiate rights for outside the home streaming and even busting open the bundles for à la carte programming exist -- provided the FCC and DOJ allow Verizon to complete the proposed $3.9 billion purchase. Of course, consumption based billing would still be on the table, so don't start planning your streaming schedule just yet. For now we'll wait and see if the pros of this arrangement outweigh the cons (and how its Redbox play is mixed up in this), or if the pie-in-the-sky NowTV-style elements of the plan are merely being floated to get the deal done.

The claims entail a wireless communication device (aka phone) configured to communicate with a headset. The novelty being, that using orientation information from the headset, the wireless device would determine which direction the user is looking. Based on this information (and your GPS coordinates), the device would then be able to "predict a destination location for the user." Selena Gomez is one lucky lady! With the release of his new single, "Boyfriend," Justin Bieber is now sharing his own relationship advice, which seems to be working since he and Gomez have been dating for over a year.

"To be a great boyfriend, you just have to have patience," Bieber told E! News. "You're always wrong when it comes to girls, you're always wrong, so just say sorry when things are rough."

On Bieber's latest single, he makes all the girls' hearts melt when he sings, "If I was your boyfriend, never let you go/ Keep you on my arm, girl, you'd never be alone/ I can be a gentleman, anything you want," but many are wondering if he had Gomez in mind when writing the track.

"No, I mean the song definitely just comes from my heart and whatever that is, whatever is in there," Justin said. "So, I mean, I'll never let you go if you're my girlfriend, I promise."

It seems like Gomez might be sticking around for a while, then! In an interview with Radio Disney's "Celebrity Take With Jake," Bieber may have also revealed the secret as to why their relationship is still going so strong.

"You just have to be honest, that's the first thing, because if you're not honest, then the relationship is just not a good relationship," Bieber said. "At the end of the day, your girl would appreciate you being honest more than lying to her and vice versa."

It probably doesn't hurt the relationship when your boyfriend's idea of a date is to rent out the Staples Center for a private viewing of "Titanic."

So with Bieber gearing up to release Believe and Gomez hard at work shooting "Spring Breakers," will these two find time to possibly collaborate on a track?

"I mean, yeah," Bieber told Billy Bush Tuesday (March 27) on "Access Hollywood Live." "If it would happen before, it's going to happen now. There's no difference. If we do a song together, we do a song together. It is what it is. I think she's taking a little break from music for a while. She's just doing her acting."

Probe to end mission in ring gap

The Cassini space probe will dive into the narrow gap between Saturn's atmosphere and its innermost ring for the final leg of its mission in 2016.

Cassini has been orbiting Saturn from a distance - outside the ring system.

The last set of orbits will bring the spacecraft up close, offering new scientific insights, perhaps even clues to the age of its majestic rings.

They offer the final chance to gather data before Cassini is destroyed in Saturn's atmosphere.

The mission's project scientist Linda Spilker outlined details of the final orbits at the 43rd Lunar and Planetary Science Conference (LPSC) in the Woodlands, Texas.

"In 2016, there's a really neat end to the mission. What we'll do is take the spacecraft from orbiting outside the rings and dive into and orbit through the very narrow gap between the upper atmosphere and the innermost ring," Dr Spilker, from Nasa's Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL), told BBC News.

This set of 22 "proximal orbits" will allow mission scientists to map the gravity field and magnetic field of Saturn in detail, hopefully shedding light on a discrepancy in the planet's internal rotation rate.

These orbits will be highly inclined - meaning the orbit is tipped by tens of degrees away from horizontal around the equator. They should allow the spacecraft to gather high-resolution data on Saturn's ring system, allowing scientists to more accurately measure their mass.

This could shed light on their age; for example, whether the rings are relatively recent and formed by the break up of a comet, or whether they date to the beginning of the Solar System more than four billion years ago.

"I think this will be a great phase of the mission," Dr Spilker told the LPSC meeting. The final stage of the mission will carry out similar science to that planned for the Juno mission which is on its way to explore another gas giant - Jupiter.

In 2017, once Cassini's fuel has all but run out, ground controllers will command the spacecraft to plunge into the planet's atmosphere, where it will be destroyed.

As the spacecraft hurtles towards Saturn, it will become incredibly hot, but will not burn up because of the lack of oxygen in the atmosphere. Instead, it will melt and ultimately be crushed by huge pressures.

Scientists are keen to avoid any chance that parts of Cassini will end up on Saturn's moons Enceladus or Titan (targets of interest in the search for extraterrestrial life) and contaminate them with any Earth bugs that have survived all these years on the spacecraft.

In the 1990s, the Galileo spacecraft was destroyed in a similar way in the atmosphere of Jupiter.

By the time Cassini ends, it will leave behind an outstanding legacy. In eight years at Saturn, the mission has made spectacular discoveries about the ringed planet and its moons - and there may be more to come.

It has discovered giant plumes of liquid water coming from an ocean beneath the moon Enceladus, observed weather systems on Titan and studied the "shepherd moons" that keep Saturn's rings in check.
